"Beauty Pro Exam" is a product name and website brand owned and operated by Bozarth Software LLC — it is not a separate legal entity. Any data you provide through the Site is collected and controlled by Bozarth Software LLC.
Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to run the Site:
- Account information: the name, email address, and password you provide when you sign up. Passwords are stored as a one-way cryptographic hash — we never store or have access to your actual password.
- Study activity: your quiz attempts and answers, flashcard and Speed Challenge activity, study guide progress, and per-track accuracy stats, so your dashboard and progress tracking can work.
- Purchase records: which track(s) you've unlocked, the date, and a reference ID from our payment processor, Stripe. We do not collect or store your card number, expiration date, or CVV — that information is entered directly into Stripe's own secure checkout page and never passes through our servers.
- Basic technical data: standard web server logs (e.g. IP address, browser type) generated automatically by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting purposes.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you logged in between page visits (a signed session cookie). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account and let you log in securely.
- To save your quiz history, study progress, and game scores so you can track your readiness over time.
- To process one-time track purchases through Stripe and confirm your unlocked access.
- To communicate with you about your account (e.g. password resets, purchase confirmations) if and when those features are available.
- To maintain the security and reliability of the Site.
Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run the Site, each of which processes data on our behalf:
- Stripe — handles all payment processing and card data. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Neon — hosts our Postgres database (account, progress, and purchase records).
- Vercel — hosts and serves the Site itself.
We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your account and activity data for as long as your account is active, so your progress and history stay available to you. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, email us (see Contact below) and we'll process the request within a reasonable time, except where we're required to retain certain records (e.g. payment records) for legal or accounting purposes.
Data Security
Passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text. The Site is served over HTTPS. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure and never touch our servers. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect your information.
Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for users who are old enough to be pursuing a professional cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology, barbering, or massage therapy license, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your Choices
You can review or correct your account information at any time by logging in. To request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account, email us using the contact information below.
California residents: depending on the size and nature of our business, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we've collected about you, request deletion, and be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any of these rights, contact us below and we'll respond as required by law.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
